Water Rate Increase Takes Effect Immediately
Water bills in Harrisburg are going up.
The Harrisburg Authority has approved a 13.5 percent rate increase that takes effect immediately.
A household of four would see an average increase of $4.04 a month.
The authority said the increase is due to a significant drop in water usage because people are conserving more.

Government: Hey, folks… great job on conserving water! Its really good for the enviornment blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda and all that crap. By the way, bend over because we’re giving you a 13.5% increase on your water.
Taxpayer: Um… but the basic economic law of supply and demand dictacts that costs go down when demand decreases.
Government: Supply and demand? Economics? Never heard of ‘em. We just aren’t making enough money off of you suck…. um, folks.
Taxpayer: Ok then, lets say we use more water. You know, take long showers and leave the sprinklers on all night. Will that lower our water bills?
