If you’ve paid any attention at all this summer, you know by now that we’ve got family in Florida. We’ve yet to talk to the BIL in West Palm Beach since Wilma but we have been able to get in touch with the FIL in Marathon. Once again they have absolutely no damage to the house whatsoever. Amazing since it sits right on a lagoon. Water did get up to the steps to the porch during the storm surge, but nothing in the house.

Like many others however, they’ve been without power for days. Not a big deal since they have a generator. Being the neighborly person that he is, the FIL went next door to check on the elderly lady that lives there alone to make sure she was alright. While there, he also offered the use of his freezer (since he has a generator and she does not) in case she had any frozen food she didn’t want to spoil. Now get this, as she is handing him her frozen food, she pipped up about how noisy the generator was and if she had to, she would ‘take legal action’ to get it turned off.

Now if it was me, I would have just dropped her damn food right there and walked away, probably after flipping her off. The FIL, simply said ‘you do whatever you feel you have to do’, took her food and put it in his freezer (the ones that is being run by the noisy generator).

Fricken people….
